So I had the pleasure of taking this out today. What a car, it really did feel like something special - it attracted a lot of attention. Speed wise, it felt very quick - but I'm still not sure how much quicker than my M135i. I'm going to have another extended test drive and see how it all feels - play around with all the settings :)

What's the opinion here then, worth upgrading to from the M135i?

Can I have an F10 with that engine in? :(

I'm not sure there will be many upgrades from M135i's as I somewhat doubt the M4 will be available on a 10p a month lease like the M135i, the M4 is quite expensive :p

Saw one of these in white today at a local dealer, sadly not the reason I was there :(

Looked very nice, still think the 3 is possibly nicer though.

Notice people talking about the engine already - my opinion of it was that power wise it was great, but the noise I'm not convinced about. Sometimes the noise was fantastic, other times it was quite average. This one had the 7 speed DCT and it had a lovely little blip on downshift.

Is that a serious question!?

I have an extended test drive booked for the end of July in an M3 which I'm so looking forward to.

I doubt you'll ever see a £400 lease deal on these; the E92 M3 £400 lease deals only came about when BMW had to shift the last lot before production ceased.

Realistically how much is an M135i lease per year for 15k miles and more importantly the right spec? Auto please.

This is what I came up with. I can find sub £400 per month quotes for the M135i with standard spec, I can't find anywhere that will quote me with a changed spec.
My configuration: http://mybmw.co.uk/l0q4o7s2
On the road cash price £40,225

This is what I thought :

Just been down to the local BMW dealer as its the launch weekend of the M3/4. They have an M4 on the road that i'll arrange to drive sometime in the next week or 2 in sakira orange. Its a nice looking car, but I still think that the M3 looks more purposeful with the more obvious flared arches and body kit. Interiors is nice, but then its not a lot different from an M Sport 3, but the seats are a big improvement over the standard 3 series ones. I'd quite happily have one in Yas Marina Blue with the black wheels and a decent spec. Maybe in a couple of years when I'm done with the M235i.

I personally think the M3 is the better looking car. The flared arches look menacing, and I don't think the 4 series is particularly well executed.

Could save some money and go for steels with no wheeltrims instead of black wheels, from 10 feet away the look is the same :D

The Black wheels on the m3/4 are not all black, its just the centre section, with the spokes still being silvered. Thats what the picture of the M4 at the top has in it.

My Evo is going in 2 weeks and as yet I haven't decided on a replacement :(

I was interested in the M4 but as yet my local garage has not had one in yet and I want to do a testdrive as I'm not sure the BMW will be my sort of car.. From what I've read there are a lot of people moaning about the sound of the new engine etc and also saying it's not quite as responsive, that and the styling may be a bit boring.

Wish I could justify the extra for a new GTR as I'm struggling to find anything interesting up to this price bracket :(
