Ok following on from my last thread ive decided im now financially secure enough to warrant getting a decent motor with the help of a loan. So have ditched the Omega idea! ;)

Ive searched the trader and was shocked to find M5's for under 15k  :D

Bad plan? Insurance will be paid monthly so not "too" much of an issue...

I personally would worry about one that cheap, the early ones are prone to problems with the VANOS which can be expensive to put right. You really want to spend around £20k+ to get a good post facelift one.

Fuel economy isn't that bad, I get 22.5mpg with mostly town driving, servicing is ok if you stick to independants rather than the main dealers.

Any idea how much per year if nothing major goes wrong mate?

Car will be insured in TW11...

I presume anything like the E55 etc is going to be just as harsh to run? Just the fact of owning such a beast is the appeal :D

Anyone got comments on an e55?

Else the 540i sounds like a good idea :)

edit -

14950 - yum

Just got off the phone with a friend slightly older and very financially secure who has offered his time to accompany myself to test the many E39's :)

Been accepted for the loan I want at 6.7% so all looking good :D

Because many dealers become much more friendly to people that can walk in and be able to buy anything.... as many people on this here forum know :)
