BMW - statutory vehicle inspection

My car has just flagged up with this. Some research has suggested to me that this is just an MOT reminder, what’s confusing to me is that the car was only made in Nov 2018 (reg. Dec 2018).

I am missing something?

EDIT - is it trying to remind me to set the date in?

Looks like on your car whoever set the initial service intervals set your MOT one to 1 year instead of the 3 it should have been. BMW will reset it but it means taking it in.

I appear to be able to set the date myself just from clicking on the warning (comes up with a select date option).

Also Pepp77 I get the idea that something is set wrong although I’m not sure 1 year is right as the car is only 8months since manufacture.

Anyway, thank you both, at least I need not worry about some crazy short service requirement.

As said it's an mot reminder. Probably wasn't set correctly during the pdi.
