BMW to recall 350,000 cars

after reading that it appears there is an issue with the airline going to the brake servo. quite bad but when it fails i suppose youd have one attempt to stop. after that youre un servod, which for todays drivers would be a shock

Just seen this on Sky, BMW say they will write to the owners so I guess they will get the addresses from the DVLA so know one who owns one of the affected cars legally should be missed.

Pretty un-newsworthy really, recalls used to happen all the time with not even a whimper from the press, but since the Toyota incident it seems any and every time a recall is issued it's a big deal all of a sudden.

Something that affects many servo assist braking systems, BWM being no different to every other car company; it happens. They're dealing with it rather well I think, suicidal marketing move in the US though.

Exactly, recalls have been happening left right and centre forever.

I just hope it does not get blown out of proportion. If the danger was serious, BMW would have been a lot more vocal!

Oh, and lol at the [TW] "wiki" Fox quote ;)

Even 'yesterdays' drivers who are used to non servo brakes (such as myself) would have a shock if it happened.
