With the ULEZ coming into action and a lot of family being in the zone looking to change our F25 X3 which isn't compliant as Euro 5.

The OH is the main driver and has now got used to the higher ride position and with kids does not want to go back to a conventional car.

The price of current cars is ridiculous as you're getting older high mile cars for what was perceived as a good budget prior to all the madness.

A bitter pill to swallow if just upgrade to new complaint F25 X3. It got me looking at other SUVs around the £20-25k mark.

GLC | Q5 | Tiguan | New Shape X3 | XC60

What gets me is this year and mileage is high for the budget so not entirely sure which way to go.

Anyone got a recent SUV for £20-25k in recent months?

Had my Kona N for about a month now..... Constant fear of a brown letter through the door great fun to drive & fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Worth a look, but I am bit biased towards Hyundai`s they just seem to fit me really well compared to the usual suspects.

I guess this depends how badge conscious you are. The models you list are more towards the premium end of the market and as such you will get something older or with more miles for the budget. Personally I like hassle free, functional motoring so newer or lower miles is preferred.
For a Q5 which is a decent car ( I had 2 when I worked for Audi) you'd be looking at a c5yo 35k miles car which seems riskier than I'd like. For the same money you'll get a Kia Sportage which generally reviews well and it will be a 2022 plate vehicle with the balance of Kia's 7 year warranty. The Tiguan I also had and its the most fantastically dull car I ever had. Nothing wrong with it but it was just too utilitarian. The Skoda Karoq is a better option and essentially the same car. So many cars to choose from - if you can narrow your criteria a bit you might get better advice.

The OH is a bit more badge conscious hence the list. She would prefer just another F25 X3 but seeing they have done more miles than ours and only 65/66 Plate and commanding near to £20k in some instances I thought to widen the search.

@SPG The Kona seems a bit smaller than we'd like but saying that I was looking at the i30n myself and Kona N looks just as good and a bit different.

@Calpol The Tiguan again was in R-Line spec and guess it looks over the drive itself.

The Q5 again would have to be the newer shape as the old one was around for ages.

Finding it a minefield to grab something as ideally want to sell the current F25 X3 to recoup something back.

The Kona is on the smaller side SUVs but it's fine for the Mrs me and the 9yr old.

Try a the Kona-N if you can it's really silly, the only downside I would say is the ride may be a bit stiff for some.
