BMW Z4 hardtop

Gave my Z4 a real good going over with Meguiar's range:-

1. Damn good rinse.
2. Shampoo (Lambs Wool Wash Mitt)
3. Rinse
4. Shampoo (Lambs Wool Wash Mitt)
5. Paint Cleaner
6. Polish
7. Wax
8. Wheels (wheep at dings that seem to come from nowhere)
9. Dress Tyres (bloody run flates I hate them)

best it looked since I bought it last year, nearly all the swirls have gone.

Here's my Z4M roadster. Got this after going into local dealer to find out about the 3.0 Coupe, and was persuaded that I could have this ex-demo for the same cost, which seemed a bit of a bargain.

Do like the looks of the coupe, but for £32k, this seemed the better choice! (the Z4M coupes came out a few months after the roadster & the demo cars aren't being sold yet as far as I know, so they are holding their value better...)

You paid 32K for the M? I've kinda dismissed it in favour of a Cayman S at 40-45, and the fact it wouldn't be a massive change from my Z4, but its a different story if they are as low as 30k.

Yep, ex-demo & they were keen to get rid of it before the end of the year. Still a few around now, like this one:

Z4M ex demo

Mine had 1800 miles on it, so the one above has a few more miles. It generally gets compared to the 987 Boxster S, but in terms of price, you'd struggle to get anything other than a standard Boxster for 32k. That for me means the M is the obvious choice!

The coupe however doesn't seem to have taken that hit... but that might just be because the dealers aren't trying to shift the demo cars yet?

I just bloody love it, I tend to only drive it at the weekends, I have a manky old Mondeo estate that I commute in (unless the sun is out).

Very nice! & much cleaner than mine currently is as well! Will take some more pics when I've cleaned it over the weekend. I've thought about having a second car for the commute, but so far I'm enjoying driving the M so much that I think I'd always find an excuse to take it... :D

I would take a Z4M over a Boxster S any day of the week but then I'm bias, I find the styling of the Boxter a little too "soft", I like cars that instill a reaction with their styling.

Honsetly I love my T reg Modeo Estate as I just don't care about it, you don't have to worry about parking it anywhere, then when I get back in the Z4 it feels like a rocket ship, I would honestly recommend a 2nd car.

Interesting, just had a look on PH and there's a couple at the 32k mark. Would prefer the Z4M Coupé though. I'm not a fan of the Boxster so my alternative is the Cayman, but like the Coupé prices are holding well.

Very tempted to swap for a Z4M now, might pop down the dealers in the next few weeks and see what's about.

There should be some good prices on new Coupe's as I hear BMW are pushing them very hard into the dealers, could be worth a good haggle.

I don't buy new, I rather let someone else take the initial hit on depreciation, and then swan in when they need to upgrade to the next best thing. Plus I can't afford to lose too much on the car as its sale will fund my next purchase. The Z4M would probably just be a stop gap until I've saved enough for the Cayman.

Wish I'd never wandered into this thread!
