Anyone here in to BMX at all?
I've always liked to own one, for living in the city. Great for getting around on, and I've always felt more comfortable with something I could chuck around.

I bought a dirt cheap Radio Evol from Gumtree, a month or so back, and it seems like a decent enough bike for the cost.
I've been away from home so not had a chance to get out on it though. It's been about 4 years since I've had a BMX, and I've never had "mad skillz", so just feeling like it's going to be difficult to get back in to.

I'm 30 years old, friends are having kids and buying homes, not messing about on BMX... :D Is it too late for me?

i used to love BMX'in and id love to get one now even though im 43 :D
id only want an old school one from back in the day though like a Supergoose or Harry Leary turbo, but they cost loads :o

I had a few when I lived in London. Just great for mucking about on.

I sold my last one two years ago, a Specialized Fuse 4 and have regretted it ever since. I have found out that the kid I sold it to has kept really good care of it and is interested in selling it back to me. I am so tempted but at the age of 38, I am not sure the missus will understand!

that blue and yellow burner (exactly that model / colour) was my second bike (circa 1987) got it as a hand me down

still ride a bmx (occasionaly) 28 years later :D

Used to ride BMX trails. Vintage BMX collecting has taken off in the last ten years. My mate who I rode with back in the late 90s and early 00s used to buy up any BMX from the 80s he could find and flip them, keeping the rarer ones for himself.

Chrome. Skyway mags. All that good stuff.

Here's Haro's brand managers collection.

im 6 foot 3 - my knees are fine!

just get a longer bike and big bars

or a 22" or 24" wheeled bmx

Do they do 22" wheels? I just remember cruisers being 24" and 20"s for regular. I'm 6ft 6 so the most important bit for me was a top tube length 22" or over. I could ride 21" but it was cramped. And if the bars weren't cut I could catch myself when doing bar spins. I always immediately cut an inch off each bar end when I got a new set.

yeah 22" been round for two or three years now
its more like a bmx than a 24"
friend got one after trying a 24 and found it much better

bars are massive nowadays too (29" wide / 8-9" high) - plenty of people barspin them still though!
