Board bending with E2180 stock cooler!

Any pics?

With the pressure it apply's it would be normal out of the case. (Not too badly though)

I've always fitted on the outside of the case, putting pressure on the board when it's on the stand-off's would be more damaging imo.

Same thing here, but not woth the stock cooler, with the Arctic Freezer 7.
Was a bit of a tight fit and noticed a slight bow in the board, not a problem though. Mounted it out the case (easier) then put it in.

mine dosnt bend at all, my stock cooler fits on by 4 'twist-screws' all mines needs it a be gently placed on, clicks into place, then twist the screw things the lock it.

EDIT: this is the pentium 4 stock cooling, but still LGA 775

Official Email I got back from Arctic Cooling, asking about this issue:

Dear Mr. South, a small bending of the Mainboard si ok. If its too strong please bend the clip for our cooler manually, so that the pressure won't be too hard. Best regardsArctic Cooling Support

I'm reseating mine to comply with this - got AS5 on the way anyway.

It's probably best just to give it a "dry fit" first without the TIM (obviously not turning it on)! Then adjusting the AC7 if needed, remembering to take into account the thickness the TIM will add when applied.

Really wasn't happy knowing I had a bulge like that, so will adjust the cooler. Remember not to adjust it so it's too loose, otherwise it won't transfer the heat properly.
