board + CPU + GPU £500

Hi

I'd like a new motherboard , CPU and GPU for around £500.
If possible I would like to game at 1440p 60fps but not sure if my budget will allow ?.

So far I've seen...

ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus - £134.99
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 12GB - £248.99

what do you guys think ?

yeah my current PC is about 7-8 years old, i've got a - TUF Z370-PLUS GAMING - GTX1060 - i3 3850k, So I would need RAM upgrade as well. Currently 16GB @2400.
Yeah I did think £500 might be pushing it a bit.

Are there any particular games you're hoping to play? What is your exact PSU?

It might be better to get a GPU and pop in a second hand i5 8600K or something, they can be had for £30-40. You should see healthy uplift and you can put any savings in the pot for a more substantial future platform upgrade to something like AM5. The AMD RX9600 launches soon and might be a good fit in that regard, AMD has less driver overhead than Nvidia and I think(?) Intel too.

My PSU is a Cougar 550w, I was hoping to play CyberPunk and Stalker 2 on it. Im happy to lower in-game graphics as well, I don't need to play on High or Ultra or anything. As long as it looks descent and runs around 60fps ish at 1440p.

So yes I think I will wait for the RX9600 and see what the prices are then, thats a good idea.
I'll come back here again to annoy you guys if I run into any problems xD
