Hi there,

Spending between 70-90 on a new motherboard for the above chip, any ideas? Was considering the Abit IP-35 Pro XE but not sure whether to consider the other chipsets?

Thanks
Mark

Edit: Should add that this chip will be overclocked

The Asus P5QL Pro Intel P43 is also a nice motherboard and i would agree with 95thrifles dont get an Abit board.

Shop around for a Gigabyte EP31 DS3L. It's a fantastic board and only cost's around £53. I have personally had a E2180 to 3.6Ghz on one. It is the best budget mobo that's been around for some time.

Earlier this week, several readers pointed us to a TweakTown report that says Abit is about to close down. The site claims Abit has focused its efforts on digital picture frames with printing capabilities, but that hasn't worked out, and the firm will shut its doors on December 31.

Did'nt know it was that bad. I knew they were pulling out of the mobo market this month but that look's like they may be quitting altogether. In that case avoid them like the plague.

Yep! Sellers might as well throw any stock away now!
