DS4/Geil 2gb-Board or ram problem?

Im having booting issues with my ds4 and geil 6400 ultra ram. Running at 440x8 with everything prime stable but if the pc has been left off for a length of time (over night) then it wont boot when i switch it on next. It just cycles through power on, power off, power on, power off etc until it stays on but nothing, no beeps just black screen, but when i reset it from there it boots with all overclock setting in bios being disabled. If i boot into windows, leave the pc running for a little while then restart, go into bios and reapply my overclock setting its boots fine.
Like i said its prime stable at those setting and raising the mch n fsb voltages further doesnt seem to help. Unfortunately i dont have any means to test the individual parts.
Does it sound like ram or motherboard problem to you?
Cheers

I would suggest it is more likely to be the board than the RAM, provided you have the RAM at its rated voltage (2.2V-2.3V). Im using the same combination and cant get above around 440 also, but Im confident its the board since using dividers ive confirmed my RAM is good up to around DDR2-950.
Could you use dividers to test the RAM? (ie run the FSB lower at around 300 say but use a divider so the RAM runs DDR2-900).

yeah ive tried using dividers and i get the same as when i clock it 1:1, best i can get is 450mhz and thats at 5-5-5-15 at 2.2v. 2.3v dont really help much to get any further

Have you tried using the 7x muti to see how far you can go before it won't start from cold?

no cos my ram will only do 440 befoe i get errors with it. Anyway ive got rid of that ram now n im currently deciding on either g.skill 6400 hz or some team xtreem 4-4-4-10
