Board upgrade?

currently using Asus P6T with i7 920,any recommendations for an upgrade,
im getting confused with the sockets,need some advise.

Why do you want to upgrade the motherboard?

It seems a waste of time to swap one S1366 motherboard for another S1366 motherboard unless it's for a specific reason.

Or are you considering a change of processor as well?

when booting i keep getting (problem with sata port 1) press F1 to continue.

sorry,sata port 1 device error.but this drive seems ok (ocz vertex 2E).
I haven't updated the BIOS,never.

If you put the device into a different sata port do you get the same error message?
