Are there many motherboards about yet that support these? Does anyone know if the next gen AMD chips will have the same socket?

Yeah, but only the expensive high end ones. Why not just get an 8320 and overclock it? You can get boards as cheap as £90 to support those well.

AMD hasn't announced Steamroller's full specs yet. If they don't release it for AM3+ they're going to **** a lot of people off.

The reason I was stating that CPU was because if I was to upgrade my motherboard I could kind of future proof myself so I could get a new CPU to go in it at a later date.
I would prefer an I5 but that means buying both motherboard and CPU at the same time.

FX93's aren't really future proofing yourself as they're gash.

No one knows really what AMD are going to do with SR and sockets.
I'd go for the 1150 route as it's safe, I'd save up for it.

Going MSI 7950 oc would net you the extra money to buy it straight out, and an MSI 7950 needs about 100MHZ over a 7970 to net parity/better performance.
