From the demonstration videos I've seen it seemed to live up to the hype, and from what I've heard the DoD didn't want to spend loads of money on new body armour so just stuck with the interceptor after some dodgy testing they carried out, citing test failure as the reason for not buying it. If it really failed the tests, I don't think elite special forces, the us secret service and generals would use it as much as they do.
