Hello

Just had a guy up to quote me for a combi boiler install, old one is 15 years plus and falling to bits....

Im top floor flat 3rd floor, want the boiler in the same position, flue runs straight up and exits through the roof....

he has quoted me £2850, boiler is about 1k and labour would be about the same so £850 for other materials, not including an electrician to wire in a pump to exit the condensate and a roofer to seal in the flue exhaust on the roof... so maybe another £150-200 on top = 3k plus.....

anyone had any work done that can comment on whether this is a fair price?

Cheers

As above seems a lot, make sure to get at least 3 quotes.

Also just to mention we had our boiler replaced in April, it was a conventional boiler, so had separate hot and cold tanks. Changed to a combi, ideal vogue.
So more work involved, took 2-3 days and the price was very similar to what you have been quoted.

London / se prices?

I had back boiler and tanks removed, combi put in a new location and 2 new radiators for 3k.

Those are stoke prices though - not entirely representative of the uk.

This is Edinburgh tight Scotsman prices were talking here, but I do want a good legal job done as I'll be renting the property once complete.

Gonna get a few more quotes, just thought this was a bit high

Get a few quotes to include everything including the electrics. IMO a good plumber should have a trusted electrician to hand for heating specific work.

I’m getting a new conventional boiler installed in a couple of weeks time. Just over £2k for a Worcester 27i boiler, flushing of heating system and a new home being drilled for the flue. That’s in Dunfermline so not far from the OP.

People that did mine were fully certified as both gas Safe and electrician, also did a great job with the flat roof.
Ours was about £3200 but that included new gas pipe, rerouting the cold main and heading pipes, full Evohome install and a £1,200 boiler.
