Hi all,

I have a old boiler the type that runs a hot water tank for the hot water. Now for the last couple of days when it been on it seems to click on and off a lot and struggle to fire back on.

Normally it will fire up, get to temperature and then click off. After about 5-10 mins you will hear it click back on and fire up to get it back to temperature. Now it seems to be doing this a lot and tank 5-6 times to fire back up and doesn't seem to get as hot but I presume thats because its clicking off and on all the time.

I do have the temperature quite low on the boiler but this has never done that before.

I was thinking about sticking it on full wack tonight and turning the pump to full (Currently on 2 of 3) and see if this helps but im not sure it will.

The boiler is a Glowworm Ultimate 50FF.

Any help would be brilliant.
Cheers

The radiators do get hot after a short while and the water is being heated ok just take a little longer.

The system probably needs a flush as the water is quite black in there.

Cold feeds are all mains fed in the house.

I think there is enough water in there, I will check the header tank in the loft tonight.

Overheat stat might need looking at but im not sure on these things.

Hi all,

How likely is it that my circ pump has died? I've bled it and no air was in there but I can normally hear the water in my pipes but I can't now.

The pump is making a noise but I don't think its as much of a noise. Is this the only pump on the system? Hence the boiler overheating? Is there anyway I can check without removing it from my system?
