I decide to upgrade to latest version 6.45. Didn't backup my work for SETI & Climate prediction. This new version stores data in a different folder so lost all old work:mad: Detched from projects.
Now SETI is running but WU's that take 38-50 mins with optimised client are listed as 12 hours:eek: to completed. This means I'm only geting 8-20 WUs for mu quad:confused: despite setting preferences to 10 days:confused:
Have detached from project & rejoined but that didn't solve the problem [climate pred. is counting down OK from the correct start time]
Will I have to scrub BOINC & start again?

Hi,

I may be wrong but after a new install the estimates (to completion) are just that and can be a 'little' out. When a few units have been completed Boinc calculates the estimates more accurately so it should settle down and produce similar times to your original setup.

Cheers, Simon.

Too late now, obviously, but this is why I always create my own BOINC directory and point the installer at it.

As for the other, are they astropulse units? I don't run them so I'm not sure how they are flagged.

I have also just done a fresh install of xp and the newest boinc on my machine- updated with the optimised apps, the first day, the estimates were very long and I thought that I'd gotten astropulse units, but the machine munched them up for breakfast, and after a day or two running, the estimates were back down to the old times.

Meridian- I used to do this, installing BOINC to a seperate directory, then a couple versions back (i forget), boinc has an install directory and a "work and projects" are here directory. And they slipped that in without me realising, I think to support multiple users on a computer- there's even a BOINC master user folder under my users directory, so I finally gave up trying to fit old wu's into the new locations. Too much headache trying to match everything up
