BOINC/SETI@Home wont communicate since I installed win 8

As above.

I just get a little box stating "Communicating with BOINC client-please wait"

Searches on thw web suggest I am not the only person experiancing this, but as yet, I have not found a solution.

Anybody else had similar problems? any suggestions?

Turn off the firewall and see if that helps
