um.... maybe it's me but I can't see bonjour (apple installers) mentioned anywhere in that image....

If it's meant to be the curse client then that links to one of the 'games' you've got installed to help with updates

I would get rid of that really old version of Java.

Does spotify install bonjour?

Bonjour is apple related software, and would only be installed when you install any apple related software (you can of course remove it as each element has it's own uninstalled, but it'll be reinstalled with the next update of that software).

Also, as has already been mentioned you have a really out of date version of Java installed which is going to make your computer vulnerable to attack, so I would suggest getting shot of it and installing the latest version.

?? Wth ???

That version of java was literally installed with something today.. That is shocking.. Its gone now...

I uninstalled bonjour before the Screenshot was taken. I haven't installed ANYTHING apple related for honestly 5+ years on any machine.

Thx for the heads up.

Bonjour is apple's implementation of zeroconf networking. It's essentially a server which listens for devices that broadcast their existence on your home network over udp multicast, programs on your computer can then query the server to find out about devices on the network.

Examples would be something like an AppleTV device broadcasting its existence so that your PC could pick it up "automagically" without you having to type in its IP address.

Microsoft's version is rolled in the UPNP spec and builds on SSDP.

Bonjour isn't exclusively apple though. Anything which needs this automatic zero configuration type of service discovery can bundle the bonjour re-distributable in its installer. Could be something as simple as a desktop program that interacts with a mobile phone app.

Just reinforcing Pulse above ^. I doubt it comes bundles with a fresh install of windows though so you must have installed something. If your OS is fresh as you state you should know the last handful of apps installed as the list is not that large yet?

Ed - quick scan on le google:

When you install an Adobe Creative Suite CS3 or a Creative Suite CS3 point product on Windows, Apple's Bonjour for Windows is installed and registered as a Windows service on the machine.

After reading this thread i checked my laptop and found Bonjour, i haven't had any apple software installed for over a year and i'm positive i would have removed Bonjour as well. I wonder what else it came bundled with? It could have been Sync Me app i had installed on my android phone and laptop i guess.

Wildstar
Curse
Battleping

What are these?

At a guess...

A game
A client used to installs Mods for certain games
Something Blizzard related?

I've always found Bonjour on my systems. I don't feel that there is anything to be alarmed about. I don't think it actually causing any issues.

Indeed, it's just one of those things you will just have if you have had a computer long enough and installed enough things, like .net framework or OpenAL or Java.

i have it installed on my work PC and its got nothing apple related on it at all so don't know what its part of but doesn't cause me any issues
