Bonjour is it needed ?

Hi There I have Apples itunes installed but wondered if i can unistall the program
Bonjour or is it needed by itunes ? any ideas :confused:

definitely uninstall itunes, probably one of the worst pieces of software i have used!

it will moan if you remove bonjour so easier to just leave it.

I don't see why people have a problem with iTunes, or any media player for the matter.

Don't uninstall it, it's needed; atleast if you sync devices with it.

i thought bonjour was for networking. pretty sure you don't need it to sync devices.

It installs so much junk.

Almost all other players just have a single EXE

Apple has tons, and many that load at startup.

Bonjour is a network broadcasting service, primarily used for Apple devices. It's only really used on Windows to detect AirPort devices or printers that have been shared from a Mac.

I agree that iTunes on Windows is horrible, nothing like the OS X version.

You do need it if you want to use the wireless sync system that came in iOS5
