I have a trip to London beginning of August I've already booked train tickets for, but I've literally just seen on the news that further strikes are now planned, and obviously we already had some a few weeks back. Should I book myself some coach tickets just to be safe, even though I could just be paying for tickets I don't use? Did any of you get stuck with tickets during the last round strikes, and what did they offer as alternatives/compensation?

-edit- Decided to play it safe and just book some coach tickets too. Only cost £15 for a backup (return trip to/from Nottingham to London), though you can't cancel or amend the tickets at all. If you want an amendable ticket, you need to pay £17 and an additional £5 for any amendments you want (though I don't think you can cancel these either, just make changes), and then there's a fully flexible ticket, but this cost over £50, so no point for a backup ticket.
