Book Pro..HDD Installation Prob.

Today arrived my 13" pro, along with the Ram from overclockers and this drive..

Now I have gone to reinstall OSX (SL), its not seeing the disk to install it on too, so any ideas what the problem is?

Ahh right sorry Disk Utility is seeing it, so I assume theres a way to format it for it?

Disk Utility?

Yea you can go into it from the Installation disk, can see it sitting there just need it formatted but not sure what option im supposed to take.

Go to the partition page, create a new partition by using the Volume Scheme drop down and make sure it's Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then click on Options to ensure you're set to GUID.

It sounds like you need to make a partition with Disk Utility first - I ran in to the same problem. Here's a walk through on how to install Leopard on to a new HDD: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Mac-OS-X-v10-5-Leopard/751/1
