Hey guys,

Had my cbt for about 4 months now and am looking at taking my test.

Have booked my theory test for in a couple of weeks time.

And then was going to book my test after i have done that.

Now i was just wondering if anyone has any tips for theory test / links to revision. I have done my full car test so I expect it to be similar.

Also I was wondering if people have any advise for the practical tests.

Would you recommend me doing a days training to make sure i haven't picked up any bad habits and to have some practice on the off the rode part of the test?

So really just looking for some general advise regarding this, then fingers crossed I will be back on here in a month looking for a bike :D

I'm 20 by the way so cant do direct access.

Thanks

I'd say a days training, just to check up on any bad habits you may have picked up would be a good thing, plus, just gets you in the mindset, ready for your test.

I've not got any links handy to theory tests, but I just googled the hell out of it when I was going for mine, found plenty of sources online that helped me loads. That said, I didn't have my car licence at the time. When it came around to doing my car licence, I found the theory test really easy, as I knew most of it already from riding for a few years.

Good luck with it all though :).

If you haven't already, pick up a theory test cd off ebay you can get them for like £8

For the practical, a days training will cost more than a failed Mod 2 and a module 1 is £15. I'm not saying don't get training but it can be done without it.

I did both parts without training with a little bit of research and really concentrating on bad habits i picked up over 2.5 years of riding.

For the module 1 take some time and go to an empty car park somewhere and practice the slow maneuvers: U turn, figure of 8 and slalom. 2 Car parking spaces is pretty much the same as the Mod 1 but im not sure on the rest, take a look about im sure you can find measurements somewhere. Also a 50kph emergency stop, if you feel the need to practice that it can all help, just dont grab the front brake as you probably know.

Good luck :)

woop passed my theory :D

45/50 on the multiple choice
60/75 on the hazard perception

Now just need to book a test for over Christmas and get a couple of hours training to have some practice on the off road stuff :D

Grats!

I wouldn't recommend getting training for MOD 1 unless you really think you need it.
Just watch a couple of vids on YouTube about the MOD 1 procedure.

The only thing I prepared for with MOD 1 is just riding slowly and doing the figure of 8 at a very low speed. Quite easy depending how good you are with the clutch :)

Congratulations buddy, similar stats to mine that I took last week! Roll on Mod 1 and 2 !
