Is anyone on lvl 3 with Booking.com?

Currently on lvl 2 and need 3 more bookings in the next 6 months to get there. Not too difficult. But I asked someone who has it and also quite search online revealed it’s not worth it. In fact, people have said the prices on Lvl 3 is more than those on lvl 2 and even lvl 1. Basically a scam, and take advantage of your loyalty.

Any personal experience of it here?

I tend to just use Booking.com these days. I used to use Expedia a lot in the past, but only once this year. Normally I just compare prices between Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia then choose the lowest one. They all have the same tier level but booking.com status are permanent whereas Agoda expires.

Been level 3 for many years. It gives 10-20% discount whilst level 2 gives 10-15%, so yes it's entirely possible the price is the same on some properties if they choose to only offer 10% discount.

Not sure what you mean by not worth it, it's not like it costs anything extra to get level 3 from 2, just a few bookings which you would be doing anyway.

Priority support is one thing level 3 has that level 2 doesn't, although I can't say I've used it a lot. Love the free room upgrades and free breakfasts that genius gives though.

By not worth it, as I stated, some people reports lvl 3 gives worse rates, as in HIGHER cost, than lvl 2 and even lvl 1. Did I not say that in the OP?

I don't know if level 3 is a downgrade, but I found that the offers used to be much better than they are now. It seems fewer properties participate in the scheme than when I was level 2. I got to Level 3 and discovered that shopping around mostly worked out cheaper to the point I haven't used booking.com in over a year.

I was looking at 1 night stay in Rabat last week, currently on lvl 2 on Booking, I am Platnium on Agoda. My google-fu came up with the following for Hassan Palace in Rabat, a 5 star hotel. I wanted it with breakfast included.

1 - Booking.com Genius Lvl 2 (logged in) £186

2 - Agoda VIP Platinium (logged in) £212

3 - Incognition + VPN £177

But in the end, I booked it through Expedia...£158 (inc breakfast).

My girlfriend and I were booking hotels. Me on the laptop as I’m an old fart and her on her phone. Both level two genius and her results were significantly cheaper a lot of the time due to a mobile only discount! I’m a convert and now use my phone.

I noticed that too. I was basically looking across phone, iPad, and Laptop. Incognito, VPN, signed out. Using the site, going through Tripadvisor.
