booklet templates word or ?

need a quick easy changable booklet,, you can keep outlay just change wording and pics etc

ie 3 sheets of A4 (got a long stapler & want a A5 print on 4 sides 2 on front 2 on back etc) so we can fold it in half and print the 3 sheets to get 12 pages like a book left to right to get pages,,

picture on front and back same wording in side front and back covers
the rest basic word input a few add on pictures, poss a spreadsheet

most of templates seem to be a page and 3 or 4 folds we want to use A4 and fold it in half landscape wise.

any one got any links of such or a program thats cheap and easy ,, its for my kids school kinda homework project for 10/11 year olds for upcoming news letters there are holding

I'm not sure what Word offers in the way of templates but your next bet might be MS Publisher.

That seems to be quite straightforward to use and has a heap-load of templates.

Just to guide you for printing out (if it isn't already done for you automatically in the app):

Setting up pages, printed double-sided is called page impositions - the pages printed next to each other don't run from 1 - 12 one after the other (apart from the centre pages).

For a 12-page booklet the pages need to printed as:

12 1
2 11

10 3
4 9

8 5
6 7 (centre pages)

Here's a little guide on impositions. It seems Word allows you to do this.

Practice with the template but just use large text to represent the page numbers - nothing else on the page - just to see how it all fits together in Word and how it prints out.

It'll either be an A5 document and you can select A4 as your paper size for printing out (with 2 pages per side) or it'll be an A4 document where you'll need to set it up somehow for 2 pages.

I'd hope it'll be the easier A5 document (individual pages) where you can select the booklet impositions just for printing out.
