Hi All,
I have just invested in my first DSLR and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding books for an absolute novice (I have a compact digital and have used nothing but point & click!).
I have opted for the Nikon D90 and should be picking it up today. Even though I understand it's an older model, I chose this as it was comfortable to hold (other similarly priced models from both Canon and Nikon felt smaller and more fiddly, plus the D90 felt a little more solidly built), apparently it's a relatively easy camera to learn on, yet still very capable, and being an older model, there is a fair amount of material already published for it.
I have already seen the 'D90 for Dummies' but am also looking for a generic book which maybe explains all the jargon (ISO, white balance etc.), and how and when/where to use it. I am also looking at maybe taking an evening class at some stage.
Many thanks in advance!
Jim
