Hey all, I admit that during the 20 years of my life I have not read a great deal of books, most of my reading has taken place in the form of websites, however I was in a book store the other day and picked up I Am Legend.

Now it took me a good 4 months to get through lord of the rings, and that was the last book I read abou 3 years ago. However I have had this 1 day and I am almost finished, it has griped me, and kept my imagination going like a railroad into the night.

I therefor decided I would actualy start buying and reading books on a regular basis, instead of sitting on my PC untill the early hours I can read half a book and then turn over and sleep.

So the point of this thread is this, I am enjoying the story of I Am Legend, and I have always loved survival stories, zombies, post disaster worlds etc, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest me some good reads that are of a similar vain to this book.

Thanks all,
Jcb33.

I'd start with Stephen King's "The Stand".

Thanks, I will give that a go!

Also wondering, according to Wiki (Yes Wiki) There was a re-release in 1995 of I Am Legend that was 317 pages, is this exactly the same as the 160 page version I have just read, or does it contain more? I am guessing it will be the addition of images or larger font etc, but I can hope...

Thanks.

"The Road" by Cormac McCarthy, the best post-apocalyptic book written. Buy it and read it before the film comes out later this year, he is the author of No Country for Old Men as well, but this book surpasses that.
