Hi,

I read a lot and cannot afford to constantly buy new books and my local library is crap..

So wondered if anyone knows of any cheap book websites?

Thanks

If you search the net you can find a lot of free books, also a lot of ebooks. Ive downloaded lots of books for less than £2.

All depends on what you want to read.

paul coelho books are brilliant equally I like Khaled Hossini and James Herbert..

For practical reasons I really prefer to have a physical book as opposed to a ebook ...

cheers

ok found a well known online store I will not mention there name for obvious reasons, if anyone is interested I can let them know..

Goto any charity shop you like and buy books for 50p to £1.I do this every couple of months and save myself a small fortune as I get through about a book a week

thanks for suggestion but I am particular about what I read :)

You do know that you can request books from the library so that even if the local one doesn't have them it will get them right?

eBay is very good for books and is cheap. Another store (better IMO) like eBay that reminds you of a forest is real good, you can pick a lot up for <£2

Try a local book store as there isn't any posting involed so you might save money.

That doesn't even make sense. Do you think you can only get crap books second hand? There's a couple of second hand bookshops local to me where I buy tons and tons of old sci-fi books, I also got a lot of Discworld books and such from them too. I've read pretty much all of them now so I buy them as they come out, but for older books, second hand bookshops are awesome. I go in there, spend about £20 and come out with about 15 books.

Sounds a bit like me, there are about 5 charity shops within a few minutes of me so every now and then I do the rounds of them, more often than not I can come home with anything up to 10-15 books of varying ages.
They are great and you can (quite often) get some great bargains, not just rubbish;) (a couple of weeks ago I picked up two very old Asimov books that I think have been oop for ages).
