Hi,

Well my car is booked in at Rogue Motorsport for a bit of work tomorrow.. nothing major, just a new alternator belt and a check over of the suspension as i have a few dodgy sounds lately. Mostly though will be the boost increase im having done. 10psi upto 14psi... doesnt really sound like much but apparently its the best mod you can do on the rev2's without spending mucho £££.

Anyone else had this done on their Rev 1 or 2 ?

Kind of looking forward to it.. :)

Very cheap too (£32 for parts and about an hour labour).

Not used to having a 25-30bhp increase for <£80 i must admit !

14PSI on a Rev2

Thats got to be pretty close to the limit.

err probly my mistake, is it 13 psi ? its only a 30 gain and from what i have read these engines are fine upto 290bhp before running out of fuel / metling pistons.

14.5 = 1 BAR

The CT26 Turbo aint though. :p

ah ha

well, I think from 1.2 the standard turbo just superheats air, and the celica forum recommend not going over 1.1 on the GT4

Well just been scouring IMOC again and theres tons of posts about 15psi being safe on rev1 + 2... people seem to have problems at 17+psi on the ct26.

the one i had about 5 years ago came off the banana boat running with 1.3 bar.

i then took it down to 1.1 as this gave a more linear power delivery.

did that for about 18 months and nothing died. as far as i was aware that was the only mod (apart from zorst and intake)

1bar is 14.5psi though, you will be hitting the fuel cut if it really is at 13psi.

Anyway, 14psi should be a decent increase. Pushing up 300's from 9 to 15psi makes a very big difference, bags more mid range and a significant increase in peak bhp. With the right supporting mods you can see a 100bhp increase from stock.

should be good, the problem is the ct26 though as it cant hold the boost to the redline. expect it to drop back to about 13psi after 5.5k rpm

Factory cut is at 13 yes (Toyota like to play it very safe).. *strokes fuel cut defender*

eeuurrgghh chuck that FCD in the bin, nasty bit of botch work.

Hence the FCD, it removes the factory cut to a setting of your choice.

Ill let you know how it goes later anyway :)

I'm gonna sort myself out a new ecu after i've done the exhaust - just get them to map it to 1 bar and be done with it
