My BT fibre broadband is doing my nut in! Its lovely and quick from wired devices but wireless is pretty much unusable these days.

We have probably 8 or 9 wireless phones, laptops, tablets (not in use simultaneously!) and wireless is appalling on all of them, doesn't matter where they are located or what channel the router is set to.

Been in touch with BT but they were unhelpful, they just said the airwaves are congested these days and we've probably got too many other neighbours routers within range so theres nothing they can do.

They suggested a booster/repeater is the only solution and most should work ok with the Homehub 2, has anyone else used one or alternatively know of a decent 2.5/5 dual band router I could replace the homehub with?

We suffer from the same thing, the BT Homehub 3 is absolutely pants. Ours always drops out!

We actually have a second router setup on our network just for wireless lol.

Have you tried using inSSIDer to see how congested things actually are?

Nope, the App Store wants £2.99 for that.

I'd guess the answer would be a lot judging by the big long list of networks in range that drops down when I click the wifi icon on the top right of OSX. Most of them also Homehubs with a few Sky's scattered in there. Annoyingly several of them have better signal strength than my own as well!
