Hey,

I have an internet connection with a wireless router in an outbuilding which is about 100ft from the main house, I'm trying to get my wireless signal over to the house and wondered what the best/cheapest way of doing this is?

The router I have doesnt have a detachable antenna so is there another box I can buy that plugs in to say the ethernet port which will be powerful enough so the house can receive the signal?

Thanks

Can you not just run a 100ft ethernet cable from the main house over to the other building and setup another wireless router in the other building, disable DHCP on router 2, and then plug the ethernet cable in to the router, and you should be all up and running.

(Assuming you have electricity to the outbuilding that is).

The main issue i see with this is the actual power that you would need, it might exceed what you are lawfully allowed to output if you want a good signal at all times.

Cabling really is your best bet here, switches/hubs.

There's a law for that?
Well like they say... you learn something new every day.

Why is the internet connection in the outbuilding? can't you just get BT or Virgin or whoever to come out and extend it to your house?
