In my previous car (a Vx Astra) I just used a tarpaulin, but my boot lip (rear bumper) ended up with gouges from putting in a kids quad bike (Suzuki lt50) on ramps

I need to do the same thing, this time with a car I've just purchased, a Renault grand scenic 12 plate. I'm weary of damaging the bumper as I did with the previous car.

Can anybody advise of anything hard wearing? Capable of taking some metal ramps with the weight of a small quad bike on them without damaging the bumper? I've seen these metal plates you stick on, but they leave part of it unprotected.

I used to have a large heavy duty rubber door mat in my Type-R. The kind with textile on one side. Half of it covered the boot floor and the other half opened out over the bumper and far enough down that the dogs could jump in and out without much fuss then just tuck the end bit back in.

They are heavy and a little unwieldy though, but cetainly did the job.
