Hi all,
Nans pc was bluescreening, to I took the drive home from other a view to sorting it out as it said it needed to run a repair.

Anyway I plugged it in to a different pc, ran repair from widows disk, but it failed.

Then after a bit of messing I got another bsod on a digital signature error on rapportke64.sys

I deleted this file and now it boots fine my machine.
Now I know this file is related to rapport security software that some online banks hassle you to install.
However the file was in system32\drivers, should it even be there? Is it malware maybe?

Anyone had this before? Anyone know how to remove rapport as it's not available in the programs list?

Thanks

I've had problems with that software in the past, too.

You could try installing it again and then see if the uninstaller becomes available.

Thanks
Seems like a bit of a pain in the butt program, guess I'll have to reinstall it when I get refit the drive, lest she can't access her online banking.

What bank is she with? I haven't seen a prompt to install Rapport in years. Actually, even when they prompted it I just ignored it and I could still do my online banking.

Santander banking works fine without https://www.santander.co.uk/info/rapport-security-software

seems it may protect is someone spoofs their whole web-site and re-directs traffic like (was it) the Indian bank issue - where dns servers were modified (inside job)
I assume they do not say any connection w/o their software is at your risk.

But I would contact them and complain about it, I had a complaint with llyods about their online system, and the time I wasted
