Boot into CD

Good Afternoon,

How do I make an Asus A68HM system boot from a CD, please?

It used to be easy to do this ... now there's something called a UEFI to negotiate. It's a nightmare.

Just make the CDROM/DVD drive in your computer the bootable disk.

Indeed, but my question was 'how' ? With the bloody awful 'UEFI' it isn't as simple as it used to be with a BIOS.

g into the bios , then to the boot tab. then boot priority will normally have primary/secondary options change primary to DVD/DC drive

press delete or f2 to enter the bios ... while you there F8 should show you a boot menu

Ok. Boot Menu:
UEFI P4: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSD0 (Highlighted)
P2: Toshiba DT01 ACA1000 (953969MB)
P3: Toshiba DT01 - ditto -
Samsung Flash Drive (122368 MB)
Generic Storage Device
Generic Storage Device

P4 must be the DVD writer; P2 & P3 the two HDDs; a flash drive and I know not what the storage
devices are.

Put bootable disc in DVD writer and restart: " Starting Windows .... " The first entry in the boot
menu is ignored.
