Boot Loop of DOOM! Help me!

Hi everyone,

Some help with this would really be appreciated, as it's not my PC, and I seem to have put it into a boot loop.

First off, the computer was having some issues, screen resolution and graphics looked like the drivers weren't installed. Trying to change the resolution did nothing, and when the system restarted it said the C:\boot.ini file was invalid or missing.

I open up the boot.ini file when it restarts, and there's nothing in the file. I paste in the contents on the windows site, rather than running recovery and fixing the boot sector, and now its looping.

Whack in the Windows XP CD and run the repair console, fixboot and fixmbr, still nothing, and its still looping. All I get is the MSI splash screen, black screen where it tries to boot from the CD or HDD, and then it restarts.

Any other suggestions, as this is a PC for my girlfriends parents company!

Okay, deleted the boot.ini file in C:\

It booted, ran a system restore, last update was yesterday, when System Distribution Software 3.0 (didn't catch the name properly, so this might be wrong)... was installed.

Now rebooting.. fingers crossed.
