Earlier today I was cleaning out my computer to remove the dust. In doing so, I accidentally disconnected my Main C:\ drive from the Sata slots.
When I powered up, it said that it was changing my boot order, but it failed as none of those drives have an OS on.
I then realised that my Main C:\ sata drive was not connected, so re-connected it.
My system is normally setup in the following way:
C:\ = 1tb Samsung MAIN (Sata) Windows 7 is on this drive.
E:\ = Western Digital (IDE)
F:\ = 1tb Samsung GAMES (Sata)
However when I booted it up, it would say that the boot record or soemthing had been changed and it was trying to repair. It would ask me to insert my Windows 7 disc and then run the recovery setup.
I did this a few times, however it would get to the same point and say that it was unable to fix the error.
I then decided to do some tests. If the C:\ Was the only drive connected, windows would load correctly.
If the C and F drives were connected, again Windows 7 would load correctly.
However as soon as I hooked up the IDE drive that just contains my downloads, the boot manager would not work and it would take me to the startup recovery cycle again.
Does anybody know why it is doing this? and how I can fix it please?
Thanks in advance.
