Hi, as the thread title suggests...

Last night, I was moving house... so I had to disconnect my PC and put it in the boot of the car to take it away. I ensured that everything was stable at the back but got home and only to find my PC will not boot with 2GB of memory (2x G.Skill ZX).

I'm running an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard. It won't boot at all, so I am unable to run Memtest with both sticks in place. I've just ran Memtest on 1 stick for 8 passes and it reports no errors and am now currently doing it for the 2nd stick... is this the best way to verify a memory error?

When using 2GB - I am greeted with a voice post message saying "System failed memory test error" and a blank screen and cannot go into the BIOS - it's a long beep, followed by 3 beeps which indicates it's memory related. I've also resetted the CMOS which has ultimately put everything back to stock.

I'm hoping it's not a board problem. =/

Maybe try swapping the sticks around? As in place them in eachothers slots.

Here's the board picture for reference:

From the manual, if I were to use 2 DIMMs, I'd have to put them in the blue slots. I've tried swapping both sticks around but the boot fails and beeps with a voice message indicating a memory test failure. :(

Put it to 2T with slack timings and if that works take it from there

By resetting the CMOS, it put the RAM at 2T and at CAS 2.5 slack timings. The board won't operate in dual channel and the board works intermittently in single channel. It seems the motherboard is gone... and I'm going to have to return it. :( :(
