About half the time that i turn on my PC/or reboot it, all the fans turn on but i get no picture to the monitor. I have to turn it off and back on again (normally between 1-3 times)

It is only when the PC beeps on startup do i get a picture and it boots fine. I have recently upgraded my graphics card and formatted my pc but neither of these helped.

Any ideas why i do not get a picture on my monitor every time? I'm guessing its either the monitor, the DVI cable or the PSU, or the Motherboard.

Dell 2001FP
2.7Ghz Opteron 146
2GB PC3500 RAM
X1800XT
480W Antec NeoPower

Thanks

Try different drivers for the card, i had issues with my x1800 when using certain drivers.

Hiya,

The problem existed with my previous card (X850XTPE) too. I don't think it's a driver level problem becuase it occurs even before entering windows

Doubt it's the monitor or the DVI cable as neither could stop the POST from happen (as you said only after it beeps you get a picture) More likely candidate is a problem with the graphics card or motherboard. Have you tried flashing to a later BIOS?

Certain drivers it would happen all the time, change drivers and the problem disappeared.

I did however update my bios to the latest version, so that could be a winning factor to.. ;)
