I have a an issue with my Acer Aspire 8920G. Recently I was watching a movie downloaded from the web. After 5 mins of viewing the screen went blank no sound, no movement.... Nothing!!!
I tried to reboot the machine but no joy..... all I get is the POST screen with the 2 options to access the bios and the boot sequencing. If I hit any keys the process freezes with no further action of any sort. If I let the process continue without hitting any keys, the machine then continues to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left hand corner of the screen. The cursor will not allow text to be entered, nor can it be moved.
I have no boot discs, no means of altering the boot sequence, no joy from Acer apart from sending it back to them for a reformat.
Am at my wits end as I have files etc that I don't wish to lose. I have no back-ups etc so this is clearly an advert for good house-keeping initiatives, lol.
