Hi,

My brother went to turn his PC on today, and was met with a message something like this;

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected etc"

Multiple reboots to no avail, and so whacked it into a hard drive caddy to see if it was detected on my computer. The device was detected, but nothing. The SSD wasn't even shown, so put it in place of my SSD in my computer but;

"BOOT MGR is missing"

Didn't boot, nothing. There is also a secondary 2TB HDD in his computer, which has all the data on it and doesn't show any signs of corruption etc, so at least his data is safe.

Does anyone have any ideas what it is? I think it's the SSD going bang, simply because it's an OCZ Vertex 450 (same as mine) which aren't really famed for their reliability :)

His spec;

Z87-D3HP
i5 4670k
8gb 1866mhz Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
OCZ Vertex 450 128gb SSD
2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

We have already got him another 250gb Samsung Evo on the way, as we just simply don't trust these OCZ drives anymore due to us both having problems with them.

Any help would be much appreciated from the both of us!

Cheers,
