Boot Screen garbled with AMD 390

I dont know if I am using the correct term, by "boot screen" I mean the image that will come up when you turn your computer on, before windows loads.
I have a gigabyte motherboard, so my bootscreen used to be a gigabyte logo.

Ever since I installed a 390, the bootscreen is totally garbled, like just weird blocks of colours. The 390 otherwise seems to be working fine.

Anyone know the reason for the bootscreen issue, and if there is a fix for it?

A bit of a guess but maybe an update to your boards bios might solve the issue?

By the way - can you access the bios or is that garbled as well as the boot screen?

The first screen that appears is the UEFI/BIOS splash screen (as you mention, it's usually the motherboard manufacturer's logo on modern boards). If you're getting corruption there then it's a serious hardware issue.

Try your monitor with another card if possible to eliminate that, but it's highly likely the 390 is toast and need to be replaced.

AS long as it is only the boot logo that looks bad then things are fine, i had issues with an older motherboards boot logo and a newer graphics card where the graphic was messed up. Just go into bios and disable the boot logo, the verbos info you get on boot is more helpful than the logo anyway.

What's your motherboard? DO you have the issue only on boot screen? If so, is the BIOS/motherboard. Try to update to the latest bios. A wipe of the BIOS isn't going to do any harm, just in case.

mines a gigabyte board, Its in the bios under bios features.
You can switch the screen off from showing on boot up from there,
But if I was you I would just flash the bios again Over the top to be safe,
Had a nightmare installing my 390 at the weekend and it was all down to my bios being funny after updating to the latest version.
