Just wondering what could cause a longer boot time?

I changed the graphics card (uninstalled old graphics drivers)
Now boot time is around 40 seconds whereas before it would take maybe 5 seconds.

Yeah ive already went into bios to make sure fast boot was enabled. I did see a note that fast boot isnt available when you change hardware...but i did have fast boot selected. mobo is ASUS Z97-K

Anyway everything boots quickly up until i enter password and then when it gets to actually posting the desktop i have a black screen for a while (can see/move mourse cursor) and then after a number of seconds it finally loads.

What do you reckon could cause this??

system is

Win7
i5-4690k
16 gig ram
256 gig MX100 SSD
Superflower Golden green 80 plus gold 550w
GTX980

I think it might have something to do with graphics drivers maybe leftover amd drivers. I didnt use DDU (mainly because some dont recommend it because it could remove stuff you dont want removed)

Only thing changed is graphics card which has been operating flawlessly.

I have used DDU fine over the years, should work fine for you. I would suggest removing the driver with that is Safe mode, then boot again to see it it boots normally first. :)

Hiya heres what happened.

First i forgot about doing ddu :D

Today i booted up but windows failed to boot up. Windows then tried to repair but couldnt. So booted up again and worked this time.

I started ddu (but then restarted in safe mode) ran DDU (selected AMD from the options of INTEL and NVIDIA). Prior to pressing go the drivers i notice in the box are intel, default vga drivers and the nvidia drivers i have installed atm.

So i press go and it does its thing then i get an error message saying it was unable to complete due to some module and i should send logs to developer.

I restarted again and windows loads up. I think i should just remove all drivers? (except for the intel ones as they could be CPU! drivers and also as i have an integrated intel graphics chipset - yes its off when im running another graphics solution)
