Boot woes following new ram

Hey all.
I have an MSI B450 Mortar (non-Max). The rig is as per my signature.

When I bought it (Ryzen 3600 release) I had problems with booting and there were (still are) frequent BIOS updates before it was fixed.

Yesterday I replaced my 2x8GB Corsair 3200 ram with 2x16GB Crucial 4400 ram (note that I am not trying to run the Crucial ram at that speed!).

I have had hours on end of cold boots after I successfully benching the ram at 3800mhz with my 5800X. I have tried the old ram too at stock settings with no change. Therefore the ram is not the issue.
It screwed up windows too (file corruption). Frustrating.

I have cleared the BIOS settings many times and tried removing the battery.

The motherboard has some diagnostic LEDs. Sometimes there are none lit but still no boot. Sometimes it says CPU fault. Other times it says VGA fault. I am writing this post on the PC, but each time I reset it then it is just a PITA. The CPU, PSU, GPU etc are all good brands with no signs of faults. There seems to be no consistency with what will make the PC boot up.

I am tempted to just get rid of this board and stick a new one in.

I'm a pretty competent PC builder and rarely have issues I cannot fix, but I would value the opinion of fellow PC enthusiasts :).

Are you on the latest BIOS?
Have you tried another CPU, you mentioned a Ryzen 3600?

Also, try removing all parts except the CPU and one DIMM, there will be no video but it will trigger the diagnostic LEDs.
If they remain off or show anything other than VGA, may be the motherboard and I would check the motherboard for any damage especially the capacitors and make sure that the motherboard and stand-offs are aligned correctly.

I haven't got the 3600 anymore. I think that the thermal paste is OK, but I shall check.
Latest BIOS installed.

I will have a poke around at the weekend just to be sure and post back here.

A bit of an update. I have had a poke around and she seems to be booting a touch better.
I still think it is a BIOS fault. I may buy a B550 board at some point if it persists.
Thanks for the help though.
