Hi,

I am trying to get some NTFS files off a win2k laptop which won't boot. I have made a bootable USB stick and can get DOS (using win98 files) to boot and from there I am loading NTFS4DOS which loads fine.

However, once I have done this several of the usual dos commands aren't working properly, i.e. copy *.* is only copying one file. Anyone know what is wrong? I want to copy a load of files to the USB stick but it is only letting me do them one at a time.

thanks

Yes,

Get an IDE convertor. Take the HDD out of the laptop (usually under one of the small removeable panels) Plug into a small to large IDe convertor. Plug into your motherboard and voila!

Or you could install a O/S to a new folder, then you can back up.

I think the free version of DOS4NTFS only lets you do one at a time.
