Does bootcamp have to be installed on the same drive as OSX is installed on or can i assign an seperte HDD purely for bootcamp/windows 7?

I seem to remember reading it has to be on the same drive as OSX but cant seem to find any info confirming that or otherwise.

No. I installed Windows 7 at the weekend onto a clean and empty drive with no problems.

Thanks the the quick response :)

I also just found the page in the bootcamp manual that confirms this (stupidly skipped the page and missed it >.>)

What about installing on to a partition on an internal drive, then creating an image of that partition, and moving it on to an external drive?

I keep any OS X installation discs on external drives as bootable images. Much quicker.
