Hello,

I'm having a problem with a BootCamp installation and wondered if anyone could shed some light on to the cause of it and a possible fix.

This is what I've done:

Opened up Bootcamp
Made a 15GB Windows partition
Inserted the Windows 7 x64 DVD
Clicked start installation

Run the windows installation. Everything runs fine up to the enter username etc.

The Macbook then reboots as if to start Windows for the first time and nothing loads. If I have the DVD in it gets stuck on press to boot from DVD and if I take the disc out if just stays on a black screen with a flashing _

I'm wondering if it's something to do with the x64? I've had XP 32 bit bootcamped before but not tried Windows 7 x64. Any ideas?

Thanks

Only saw this in relation to an iMac but I had to download some drivers and put them on an SD card before Win7 x64 would install on my iMac.

Windows 7 x64 worked fine for me. How long did you wait after 'starting windows for the first time' screen? It did take about 10 minutes for mine to show anything first time.
