Booting from a cd when using RAID??

May sound a bit noobish but i cant for the life of me figure out how to boot from a cd. If i set the cd drive as priority in the bios it changes nothing. Just goes through the usual raid check. Want to check the hdds and to do that need to boot the program of a cd! Any help?

i agree it should!! it doesnt even work with windows dvd. So your saying to check the hdds i should take them out of RAID? Would prob be able to boot from cd then too.
