Im trying to run Ftool for my Hitachi drive and dont have a Floppy drive so have downloaded an ISO file and have burnt it to CD using Nero. When i boot from the CD it loads a few drivers in DOS but ends up on a command prompt.
The guide on the Hitachi site mentions booting from a bootable CD but doesnt mention how.
Any help is well appreciated.
Cheers

its booted from the cd if you have the command prompt
type "dir /w " without the quotes that will list the files , its the *.exe ones that you are after

Cheers, its supposed to go straight into the Ftool screen. Il try what you said.

Did you or anyone else get it to work?

I have tried bootable CDs, DVDs and USB sticks - I can get dos (but not from any media with FTool on it!!

It is peeing me off.

you need to add files to the ISO image to be able to do it. Its not hard have a look at PowerISO as that will allow you to add files to the boot image and there for should do the job for you.

Hi

Did all that though see cant see ftool in dos. I do get the ahead software. Can now see it on the USB pen but when I try to run it I get insufficient memory.

This is really annoying.

Just download ultimate boot CD (UBCD), it boots, (you'll need to have cd drive as first boot option in the bios) and it has the Hitachi tool on it :).

afraid it isnt but the FAQ gave the solution burn at 8x - it works. Thanks

To see the tools you would have needed to add them to the boot image within the iso its not too complicated but can be a pain in the bum.
