I've got the Kubuntu Live DVD here but when it boots it says "press enter to start live cd" but as I have a USB keyboard it doesnt do anything. I don't have a spare PS2 one either. any ideas?

It sounds like USB keyboard support is disabled in your BIOS.

Well I can get into the BIOS and change stuff with my USB keyboard and i've searched all over the BIOS for a setting but I can't find one so it must be something dodgy with the mobo.

its usually called "USB legacy support" within the BIOS that has to be enabled you may have to do it with a PS2 keyboard, then after, if you need to access BIOS again you can use your USB keyboard and hopefully kubuntu

My CM Gem USB keyboard dosent work atall in linux nomater what distro i have tryed i have always had to unplug it and use a ps2 one. i dont know why, perhaps its somthing to do with the controler on the keyboard :(

I found the setting now it was called "USB keyboard control from" it was set to OS so I changed it to BIOS
