I am using windows 8 - please tell me this is possible;? I cant boot into windows so need to do it during the boot, but google suggests this isnt possible anymore?

How, though? Its not clear how to do it midboot (as I cannot get into windows)

For some reason it has now booted. I am still working on the issue but I believe it relates to my RAM (which I've started a separate thread about).
In the mean time, shall I follow this?
